the sleep detective for iPhone
Your sleep is trying to tell you something.
Baa finds clues in your own nights, tests one small change at a time, and keeps what actually works for you.
ex. 4 of your 5 tired mornings followed a bedtime after 1:00 AM.
ex. Caffeine after 2 PM doesn't seem to matter for you. Still useful!

Later bedtime Growing
4 of your 5 tired mornings followed a bedtime after 1:00 AM.
Trackers tell you what happened.
Tips tell you what to try.
Nobody tells you what works for you.
You can sleep eight hours and still wake up exhausted. Timing, consistency, interruptions, stress and daily habits all leave clues — and they're different for every person. Baa looks for yours.
how it works
Notice. Investigate. Test. Learn.
- 01
Notice
Tap how you feel each morning — five seconds. Baa reads your nights from Apple Health, or you log them by hand.
- 02
Investigate
Baa compares your tired mornings with your good ones and shows the clues, with the counts behind every one.
- 03
Test
When a clue holds up, try one small change for five nights. Only one. So you know what made the difference.
- 04
Learn
What helped goes in your Sleep Playbook. What didn't matter goes there too — that's useful to know.
inside Baa
A case file for your sleep.
Baa keeps one investigation open — say, “Why do I still wake up tired?” — and works through it with you: clues, one question a day, a theory, a five-night test, and what you learned.
Examples below show how Baa words things. Your data will be your own.
Experiment · Night 3 of 5
Bed before 12:30 AM
Baa checks each night against your sleep data. Just sleep.

why Baa
Built to find what works for you.
Evidence, not a score
No mystery number out of 100. Every clue shows its counts, like “4 of your 5 tired mornings followed a bedtime after 1 AM.”
So you can see why Baa thinks something matters — and disagree.
One change at a time
Ten sleep tips at once teach you nothing. Baa tests one change for five nights and compares it with your normal.
So when something works, you know it was that.
Yours, not average
Baa learns your own normal first — your usual bedtime, sleep and mornings — and compares against that, not a population chart.
So the answer fits your life, not someone else's.
meet Baa
The world's least convincing detective.
Baa is a small, goofy sheep. He forgets where he put his notebook and sometimes falls asleep mid-case. Yet somehow he keeps finding useful clues.
Baa can be silly. Your sleep information never is — every clue shows the evidence behind it.
good to know
What Baa is not.
- Not a medical device. Baa can't diagnose sleep conditions. If a pattern looks worth a professional's attention, Baa says so.
- Not a smart alarm, sleep-sounds or meditation app. Plenty of good ones exist — Baa is for figuring out what affects your sleep.
- Not instant. Baa needs about a week of nights and morning check-ins before it can compare. Early on, it will say “I don't know yet.”
- Private by design. Your nights, check-ins and notes stay on your iPhone. Apple Health is read-only.
frequently asked
Why do I still wake up tired after 8 hours of sleep?
Hours are only one piece. Timing, consistency, night interruptions, stress and daily habits can all affect how you feel — and they differ from person to person. Baa compares your tired mornings with your good ones to find which of these show up in your own data, then helps you test one change at a time.
How is Baa different from a sleep tracker?
Trackers tell you what happened last night. Baa uses that data to look for clues, shows the counts behind every clue instead of a score, and runs small five-night experiments so you learn what actually helps you.
Do I need an Apple Watch or another wearable?
No. Baa can read your sleep from Apple Health if you have it, or you can log a night by hand in a few seconds. A five-second morning check-in is the only thing Baa really needs.
What devices does Baa run on?
iPhone (coming soon to the App Store). Android is planned.
Is Baa free?
Baa is free to start: logging your nights, the morning check-in, your first investigation, every clue's name and status, and the evidence for your top clue. Premium unlocks the evidence for every clue, five-night experiments, your Sleep Playbook, new investigations and full history. Premium is available as a subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase; prices are shown in the app before you buy.
How long until Baa finds something?
Usually about a week of nights and morning check-ins. Baa won't guess before it has enough data — early on it will simply say it's still learning your normal.
Where is my sleep data stored?
On your iPhone. Your nights, check-ins, notes and learnings are stored on the device, and Apple Health access is read-only — Health data never leaves your phone. Baa sends anonymous usage events (for example, which morning feeling you tapped) and subscription status to its service providers, never your sleep times, durations or notes. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Can Baa diagnose insomnia or sleep apnea?
No. Baa is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition. If something you log looks worth a professional's attention — like repeated very short nights or waking up short of breath — Baa will say so.
How do I cancel Premium?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple: open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Baa. You keep Premium until the end of the period you've paid for.
